National Project
Team Leader: Ms Katalin SZOMOR
Consultants: Ms Gabriele FISCHER (Unversitätklinik
für Psychiatrie – AKH, Austria), focusing on
pregnant drug users; Ms Agneta FLINCK (University of Lund);
focusing on distance education), Dr Igor KOUTSENOK (Associate
Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Co-Director, University
of California, San Diego, USA), focusing on drug treatment.
Three consultants worked with Hungary. However,
the total number of consultations was limited to 24 days.
Some of the Hungarian key experts visited Vienna to get
first-hand experience of the work carried out at the workplace
of the consultant Ms. Fischer.
Training material developed takes the form of
four text-books:
• for medical education
• for those dealing with prisoners
• a book on women and drugs
• a book on the family doctor’s role in the
local community.
These are intended for use in distance
education. Two CD-ROMs have also been produced. These contain
the material included in all four publications, plus much
additional material in electronic form, including Pompidou
Group, WHO and UNDCP publications. These will prove very
useful for Hungarian professionals, who have difficulty
in accessing such material in printed form. This work is
a good example of the continuity from DRSTP I, as it was
there that some members of the National Project Team learnt
about distance education.
